Curriculum – Online Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction

The Online Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction consists of 30 credits (10 courses). Candidates will complete 18 credits of core courses and 12 credits in concentration area.

Core Curriculum (18 credits):

ED 601 Research for Teachers (3 credits)
ED 602 Principles of Differentiating Instruction (3 credits)
ED 603 Contemporary Learning Theory (3 credits)
ED 604 Mentoring and Professional Development (3 credits)
ED 605 Multicultural Education (3 credits)
ED 606 Assessment Theory and Design (3 credits)


Concentration Courses (12 credits):

Students will choose either the Elementary Concentration or the Secondary Concentration based on their professional needs and interests:


Elementary Education Concentration:

ED 610 Reading Strategies for Struggling Readers (K-6) (3 credits)
ED 611 Integrating Curriculum through Children’s Literature (3 credits)
ED 612 Infusing Content Areas with Art – Elementary (3 credits)
ED 613 Deepening Mathematical Content Knowledge (3 credits)


Secondary Education Concentration:

ED 614 Reading and Writing in the Content Areas (3 credits)
ED 615 Ethics in Educational Practice (3 credits)
ED 616 Adolescent Literacy and Young Adult Literature (3 credits)
ED 617 Infusing Content Areas with Art – Secondary (3 credits)
